Since January 2023, the Sies + Höke project space Caprii is energising playful collaboration and dynamic exhibition-making in the local Düsseldorf scene. Each of the solo and group exhibitions of Caprii are accompanied by a booklet, offering an extended plane for holistically encountering the praxis of the respective artists.

The fourth edition presents a diverse array of works by Behrang Karimi, from painting, drawing through to painted objects. Based in Cologne, Karimi’s oeuvre offers visionary glimpse of mysterious inner worlds: reality is transfigured into a primordial dimension, hidden in a foggy layer of meanings, personal and cultural references. Through graphic and pictorial gestures Karimi opens unreal and unpredictable scenarios made of traces of dreams and daily life, memories and personal affections. He leads an intimate and poetic, tragic and yet ironic research on man, nature and on the act of painting itself.

The booklet series is designed by Studio Thomas Spallek and is made using remnant paper stock sourced from Druckerei Kettler.
